Human Type P-gp(TC-huMDR1)mouse

P-gp (P-glycoprotein) plays an important role in drug brain migration and drug-drug interactions. In drug discovery studies, drug brain migration is investigated with various animals such as mouse, rat, dog and monkey, but on the other hand, data different from animal species plague drug discovery researchers. Our huMDR1 mouse has been proven to be highly correlated with humans in various drugs. The animal is expected to be a great tool for drug discovery research in terms of brain migration analysis regardless of low-molecular compounds or antibody drugs.

The upper and the middle panels show the distribution of drugs in brain and plasma when paclitaxel or Hydroxyzine is intravenously administered to wild type, Mdr1-KO, TC-huMDR1™ mice, respectively.

The lower panels shows the effect of elacridar (a specific inhibitor of P-gp) on paclitaxel in the brain and plasma of TC-huMDR1™ mouse.
